V zadnjem delu Pocestnih zgodb, s katerimi odštevamo dni do petkovega Sindikalnega dogodka, objavljamo pogovor z bivšo zaposlenko Enrona Lynn Brewer o zloglasnih 700 milijardah dolarjev pomoči ameriškim bankam in potencialnih rešitvah za ameriško in posledično svetovno ekonomijo.

Končno pa objavljamo tudi zadnji del serije Streetlife DJs Hot Mix 100. Inflacija očitno ni prizanesla niti številu komadov, ki jih je mogoče stlačiti v en miks.

SWEET 13 with STEWART ROWELL – STREETLIFE DJs

1. Where do you come from and how did you get involved with music?
I come from South London. I’ve always been interested in music, but was really into hip-hop at around 14/15 years old. That’s how got into DJ-ing. I had my first set of Technics at 16, it took ages to save up for them.

2. Where and how do you live now, does the place (city, country) somewhat reflect in your music?
I still live in South London, and yes I believe it does have some reflection. London has always been at the cutting edge of music & fashion.

3. Do you have some classic music training?
I don’t have any classic music training, although I do play drums (badly). I’m taking tuition again.

4. Were your parents supportive when you started your production/DJ career?
My mother was always supportive of pretty much anything that I wanted to do, and she encouraged me with DJ-ing, although I don’t think she ever saw it as a career. But my father hated the idea, and unfortunately neither of them is alive now to see it happening.

5. Do you follow trends (music, fashion, art,…) and does your current music style reflect what’s trendy right now?
Yeah I think it’s fair to say that our sound is popular right now. But everything goes round in circles anyway. We don’t follow particular trends no, we just play music that moves us.

6. Which country/music scene has the most creativity in musical output right now?
France is consistently producing the best music at the moment, but also Germany, Belgium & Australia…and the UK too, of course. The internet has made it so much easier to get fresh new music.

7. Favorite album of all time?
Its impossible to pick just one, but here’s some of my faves:

Because they just are!

9. Favorite computer game?
I absolutely detest computer games.

10. Best breakfast food, best “I’m drunk and it’s 4 in the morning” snack?
Full English breakfast & a cuppa tea…anytime is a good time.

11. If there were no limits (space, time, endangered species…) – what pet would you most love to have?
A lion, because they’re kings of the jungle (and also because my football team are nicknamed The Lions - Millwall FC).

12. What are you most proud of in your life?
I’m most proud of my mother actually, she was quite a remarkable woman for many reasons, but she captained the England netball team on many occasions.

13. Words to live by…
Work hard, play hard and don’t take it all too seriously.

Zadnje čase so izjave naših politikov postale vedno bolj prežete s reki, pregovori in prispodobami, ki so večerna poročila spremenile v nekakšno tekmovanje v kreativnem govorništvu.
Namen izjav je bil ponavadi diskreditacija opozicije s skrajno neinteligentnim srednješolskim podjebavanjem, bolj pogosto pa so služile izmikanju pred nevšečnostjo podajanja konkretnih dejstev novinarjem in javnosti. Če res velja, da je ves svet oder, potem je bil v našem parlamentu velikokrat na progamu “amateur night” stand-up komedije.

Nagrada za najbolj neprimeren način komuniciranja pa mora iti Alenki Katarini Palin, pardon, Paulin, ki bi se morala kot direktorica Slovenske tiskovne agencije dobro zavedati moči medijev.
Portal Vest.si je objavil neuspeli intervju, ki ga je s Paulinovo poskušala opraviti novinarka Maga. Zaradi sarkastičnih odgovorov direktorice STA niti ne preseneča, da intervju ni bil nikoli dokončan niti objavljen. Korespondenca je v celoti objavljena tukaj.

Saj ne, da je Mag nek sinonim za kvaliteto, vprašanja so bila kar precej provokativna, vendar si kot vsak drug časopis zasluži profesionalnega odnosa.

No, Paulinova je vmes presenetila s svojim nepričakovanim odstopom zaradi “zdravstvenih težav”, nato pa ga je kmalu preklicala. Blogi so seveda prepolni ugibanj, za kakšne zdravstvene težave naj bi šlo.

Morda pa bi katero od njenih osebnosti v prostem času zanimalo pisati za Sindikat.tv? Alenka in Katarina, premislita in nam čimprej odgovorita!

Prodaja Mercatorja se mi zdi precej bizarna. Vedno sem imel občutek, da je to slovensko podjetje, ki mu gre skrajno dobro. Vendar pa sem bil do njega vedno zelo nezaupljiv. Danes skorajda ne moreš najti manjše prodajalne, ki ne bi bila Mercatorjeva franšiza. Spomnim se, da smo včasih kupovali v Nami, Emoni, Maxi-marketu, Delikatesi ter lokalnih zasebnih marketih, mesnicah in sadju-zelenjavi, zdaj pa se mi zdi, da so vse pristale v želodcih Mercatorja in Tuša.

Druga zadeva, ki jo precej zamerim, je dejstvo, da so mnogi slovenski proizvajalci bili prisiljeni za škrlatnega giganta proizvajati izdelke, identične svojim, ki so se nato v obupno oblikovani Mercatorjevi embalaži prodajali po nižjih cenah. To naj bi bilo odlično, saj so imeli naročnika, ki favorizira slovenske proizvajalce, vendar pa so posledično njihove blagovne znamke popolnoma zbledele. V primeru prodaje Mercatorja bodo v precej neugodnem položaju. Spomnim se celo govoric, da naj bi bili proizvajalci pod grožnjo, da bodo njihovi izdelki v trgovinah pozicionirani na najbolj neopazne police, če ne bodo proizvajali izdelkov tudi pod blagovno znamko Mercator oz. Lumpi.

Edina dobra plat vsega skupaj je , da se bo slovenska proizvodjna morda končno zbudila iz socijalističnega spanca in se malo bolj začela ukvarjati s svojimi brandi. Yes we can! Navsezadnje je globalno tržišče le našlo pot do nas.
